Dark Sky Discovery Event - Pow Hill, Derwent


About this event :

Dark Sky Discovery event on Friday 15 November. Public observing at Pow Hill from 7 pm, setup 6:30 pm onwards.

Pow Hill is at Derwent Reservoir and is the turning signposted for Derwent Reservoir before the Slaley Hall turn off that we use for Millshield Car Park.

After the turning you follow the road past the rangers station and turn right into Edmundbyers and continue to Derwent picnic areas and Pow Hill.

Turning off the A68 at the first sign for Derwent Reservoir from Castleside and following the road until you get to the rangers station.
From their go over the small hump back bridge and keep going until you get to Edmundbyers.
Turn right into edmundbyers and follow the road round a sharp bend should be marked picnic areas.
On the right hand side there is a sign for Pow Hill.

For those with Sat Navs, Pow Hill Country Park (Derwent Reservoir)   is: 54°51’35.21″N 1°58’59.10″W or (Decimal 54.8598N -1.9831W)
