SAS Lecture: Unanswered Questions in Physics

About this event :

Emeritus Professor Philip James of Liverpool John Moore’s University will give us a unique perspective and look back over his career of more than 40 years working in astrophysics, covering:
  • the structure of galaxies,
  • star formation,
  • and the nature of stars which undergo supernova explosions.
Looking back at the wider field of astrophysics: what were the big questions we all hoped to solve back in 1985 (the nature of dark matter and the existence of black holes) and how successful has science been in solving these issues.

Talks in Person

Emeritus Professor Philip James will be delivering the SAS via Teams at the Washington Wetlands Centre (Discovery Room, providing there are no technical and/or WIFI difficulties)
